Writing Books for Children - Part One

I now have a polished story that I am happy with. My vague knowledge of how to do this was clarified by the course notes, but it was the step-by-step process of actually writing a book, and the feedback from my tutor, that I found most valuable.

But we often find ourselves addressing recurrent issues. Advanced Revision Techniques in Fiction Students use their own writing to hone specialized revision skills such as deep characterization, lyrical writing, expanding scenes, movement through time, and developing a sense of place.

We might discuss an aspect of technique with reference to a passage from a published piece of fiction — last week we talked about character from the outside, looking at a page of Elizabeth Bowen.

The course exceeded my expectations, it was a fantastic experience. I also try to get students to bring in snacks because I have low-blood sugar.

Children's Writing

The topic of flawed characters has been raised so we will be looking at those with finalising, reading and presentations on the 8th.
